There are many truths to be found about advertising. In fact, whoever you are talking with would tell you about so many things that you should do and not do in order for you to have a successful marketing campaign. So let us start with some of the truths and myths that every advert should know to effectively run an ad.

The only bad advertising is no advertising.
Myth or Truth?
There is no such thing as no advertising actually.

Advertising is all about trying to sell something, be it a product, a service, or even a response or action on the part of your target audience. It is therefore conclusive that when you are in business, you must have advertised even once to make a sale. That’s why you are in business anyway – to sell, first and foremost.

So, of course not. Bad advertising is bad advertising. Even if you use the most expensive color printing technology to produce your ad, if it does not result to your main purpose for doing it, then that is a bad advert. No doubt about it. Advertising that does not make a sale is
bad advertising.

Repetition – Again and Again.
Myth or Truth?
To make an impact, you need to advertise repeatedly and continuously. Is it a myth or is it actually true? Contrary to what you might think, it is advisable to repeat your advert – especially if that advertising campaign works. It is beneficial for you to repeat your ad for more than six to eight times. As studies proved it, it takes about the 6th to the 8th exposure to your ads before a prospect becomes a definite buyer. And if it happens sooner than the 6th time, then good for you! It is a rare occurrence indeed that a sale can be had that quickly.

However, the magic word is works. It must have an effect on your target market. If not, then what is the use of repeating it?

A bad advert is a bad advert, no matter how you put it.
Myth or Truth?
No matter how much you repeat your advertising campaign, if it did not work the first few times then it would not work at all. The first run that you may have had a bad advert may be just the circumstance at that time. Or that it was not the right opportunity when you sent it out to your target market. The second time, well, it might still have a fighting chance. But if it is not performing at all on the third try, or
fourth, then you should abandon all efforts because it would not improve at all. Repeating your advert would just be a waste of your time, money and energy.

On the other hand, if on the first few times your advert worked its wonders, then you should keep it running. Repeat your effective color printing ad until you have reached the point in your sales that says your marketing campaign needs to stop. As long as you see an increase in your sales, just keep it running.

Size matters.
Myth or Truth?
It is true that size does matter. But you also have to consider that it has to have a great design too. It is true that in order for you to attract your target readers’ attention, bigger adverts have more
chances. As expert marketers would tell you, if you want to stand out, your ad should dominate. And how else can you do that if not for your large size ads? However, it won’t also matter one bit that your ad is as big as Godzilla if it is poorly designed. Small adverts that are carefully planned will always do better than the big ones without the oomph.

What is Google AdWords?

Google AdWords is the most powerful, cost-effective and simple marketing campaign you can use.
This article explains why....

1. Pay Per Click
Unlike traditional advertising, Google AdWords delivers marketers with a huge cost-effective advantage. Gone are the days of paying high prices for advertising that your potential customers might not see.

With Google AdWords you ONLY pay when a customers clicks on your advertisement and then visits your website.
What an advantage! Throw that "50% of advertising is wasted" quote straight into the trash where it belongs!
Just think about that for a moment. You only pay for the advertising when a customer visits your website. What more does a marketing manager want?!

2. Better Ads Pay Less
The Google brand is relevance. Google has blown away the competition because it delivers, better than anyone else, the most relevant content in the minimum time.
So when Google introduced Google AdWords it had to ensure that those paid advertisements were still going to be as relevant as the free or 'organic' listings.
Google rewards relevance. And it rewards marketers for the most relevant ads for any search term.
A successful Google AdWords will actually be placed higher than its competition but will probably be paying less.
How does that work?
Well, Google monitors the click-through rate (CTR) of each ad i.e. what percentage of browsers click on your advert. Those ads with the higher CTRs will pay less than competing ads. So, unlike Yahoo, marketers are encourage to create strong, relevant and effective AdWords by hitting them in the pocket.
My own campaign still has the same position on the page but actually costs some 75% less than the original cost. How? By delivering strong and relevant AdWords for each of the search terms. That's good marketing management.

3. Measurement
You can't manage what you can't measure. Previously, marketing managers have been had to manage the black art of return on marketing investment with little in the way of reliable figures on performance. With Google AdWords all that has changed.
Google provides you with a user-friendly marketing management system that is a breath of fresh air for marketing managers hot on marketing measurement.
The Google AdWords system allows the marketing manager to precisely measure the following:
1. Number of visitors
2. Cost per visitor
3. Cost per campaign
4. Cost per enquiry
5. Cost per sale
Wow! Now isn't that useful?!

4. Free Advertising
Want free advertising? Who doesn't? But how do you get free advertising with Google? Well, say you run a campaign and you achieve a 5% CTR. That means that for every 100 page views 5 customers have clicked on your ad. That's a good average CTR. However, don't forget that on the other 95 page views your advert has been there in all its glory in front of your target audience. The customer can only click once! So remember that with Google AdWords you win even when you don't!

5. Speed
How long does a traditional advertising campaign take to prepare, create and deliver? Weeks, months?
With Google AdWords you can have an effective Google ad in front of your target audience within 30 minutes. How about that?!
And you can choose to stop or pause that AdWords campaign at the click of a button.
So let's recap. With Google AdWords, marketing managers have the ability to deliver effective marketing management through Google campaigns that are cost-effective, real-time (almost!) measurable and immediate.
Now go and discover the future!

"Adsense Basics 101"
By Bill Luszey

Adsense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publisher's arsenal. It allows a person to monetize their sites quickley and easily. If used properly, it Should generate a very large and substaintial income for them. However if you are not using them effectively and just maximizing the income you squeeze from it, you are actually leaving a lot of money on the table. Something most people I know hate doing.

How you can start earning money with Adsense can be done easily and quickly. You will be amazed at the results you will be getting in such a short period of time.

Start by writing some quality content articles which are also keyword incorporated. There are a lot people who are excellent with words. Writing comes easy for them. Why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning some extra cash in the process.

There are actually three steps before you begin writing your ads and having an effective Adsense campaign.

Keyword search. Find or discover some popular subject, keywords or phrases. Select the ones which you think has more people clicking through. This is actually a keyword selector and suggestion tool that some sites are offering to those who are just their Adsense business.

Writing articles. Start writing original content with keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your search. Take note that search engines are taking pride in the quality of their articles and what you will be writing should keep up with their standards.

Quality content site. Build a quality content site incorporated with Adsense ads that is targeting the subject and keywords of your articles and websites. This is where all that you've done initially will go to and this is also where they will prove their worth to you.

The proper positioning of your ads should be done with care. Try to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. According to research, the one place that surfers look first when they visit a certain site is the top left. The reason behind this is not known. Maybe it is because some of the most useful search engine results are at the top of all other rankings. So surfers tend to look in that same place when browsing through other sites.

Some of those who are just starting at this business may think they are doing pretty well already and thinking that their clickthrough rates and CPM figures are quite healthy. However, there are more techniques and styles to generate more clicks to double your earnings. By knowing these techniques and working them to your advantage, you will realize that you will be getting three times more than other people who have been previously doing what they are doing.

Lastly Adsense has some very good tracking statistics that enables webmasters and publishers to track their results across a number of site by site, page by page, or any other basis you wanted. You should be aware oft his capability and make the most of it because it is one powerful tool that will help you find out which ads are performing best. This way, you can fine tune your Adsense ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most rather than those who are being ignored.

Another thing you should know. Banners and skyscrapers are dead. Ask the experts. So better forget about banners and skyscrapers. Surfers almost always ignore these kinds of ad formats. The reason behind this is that they are recognized as an advert and advert are rarely of any interest and that's why people ignore them.

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you wanted to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, time is needed coupled with patience.

Don't just ignore your Adsense once you have completed accomplishing them. Spare some time, even an hour, making adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites to quickly trigger your Adsense income.

Give it a go and you would not regret having gotten into Adsense in the first place.
